Scientific names spelled identically at the selected rank but used for more than one name in the Catalogue of Life, regardless of their authorship, nomenclatural code or taxonomic status. Besides true homonyms (the same name published for different taxa) the list also shows names that occur more than once for other reasons, for example accepted in one group and a synonym in another, or with differently written authors. Many of them are worth a closer look.
