To report an issue with a name or taxon, use the Feedback button at the bottom right of any taxon page. Please include details and references if available. Your input creates a public GitHub issue you can track. You may also share your email for private follow-up by the COL secretariat. GitHub users can report issues directly in the data repository

After receiving your feedback, an editor will review it based on nomenclatural codes and historical context. If appropriate, we’ll either contact the original source or make editorial changes directly.

Suggest a Data Source

The Catalogue of Life is constantly evolving, and we’re open to adding new sources. If you know a checklist that could enhance it, please let us know. We assess source quality, data availability in suitable formats, and require an open license (CC0 or CC BY). You can suggest sources via GitHub or by emailing us at support@catalogueoflife.org.
